Born and raised in Chicago and a Denver, Colorado resident for nearly the past thirty years , I am a Digital Designer and Researcher with a passion for human-centric designs and music.

 

Prior to discovering design, I lived a few lives.  By day, I primarily worked as a Neuropsychiatric Counselor and Behavioral Health Specialist at one of the nations leading hospitals and then, by nights and weekends, a working musician.

 

My behavioral health science background gave me the building blocks to understand how to approach the emotions and behaviors of people from all walks of life. My work relied heavily on statistical and data-driven research and technique, quick problem solving under high pressure and most importantly, empathizing and connecting with individuals. I excelled in my career because of my ability to quickly think on my feet, as well as to ask the right questions in order to arrive at the most pragmatic and beneficial solutions for the people I was working with and for.

 

Making a change into digital design is one of the best decisions I have made for my career. Not only does this field embody aspects of agile thinking, creativity, and human-centric designing, it also allows for me to craft products that engage users in a way that is able to change perspectives and user experiences for the better.
